The lying, cheating jerk…

27 Apr

I know that some of you reading the title might be panicking that Gary is the lying, cheating jerk.  Thankfully, this is not about Gary.  He is still the most wonderful guy I’ve ever met, and, I cannot wait to be his wife.  We’re just 1 month away until our wedding — but, I digress— back to the main subject of this post…

It came to my attention that someone who has been pursuing someone I consider a friend,  has turned out to be a lying, cheating jerk…  I just have to write about it to get it off my chest because I feel like I’m going to explode.

Now, you have to keep in mind that my friend never had a romantic interest in this man.  She went on maybe two dates with him, and, tried to let him down easy each time.  He just didn’t get it, and, he continued to pursue her.  So, she tried playing it the other way, and, tried to get to close him by telling him she wanted to marry him.  That scared him.  Sort of…  He would come back and then leave ridiculously stupid emails saying “Sorry this will never work.”

Finally, out of desperation to get rid of this guy, my friend confronted this man and asked him if there was someone else.  The answer was “yes”.  She thought she was finally rid of him.  WRONG.

He tried to play the friendship card with my friend.  She’s just too nice and too much of a lady to tell him otherwise, so, she thought this is where this rather odd relationship was going end up.  Friends.

Wrong again.  Once again he tried to pursue her, told her that he still loved her…  And this time it turns out the rat is ENGAGED to the other woman.

I’m not pissed that he hurt my friend.  Because he didn’t.  She didn’t want him.  She never did.  What pisses me off is that he is still lying to my friend’s face totally unaware that his Facebook page is totally public, and, it’s there in plain daylight for anyone to see the status of his relationship with this other woman.

My friend confronted this guy last night and asked if the woman he is engaged to knows about about her.  The answer he gave was “no”.  He then continued the lie and said his daughter only met the woman he is going to marry twice.  Really?  Does he really think my friend is dumb enough to believe him?  And, here’s the kicker.  He’s telling my friend the engagement is off and that he has the ring in the car — WRONG!  Once again a simple visit to his Facebook page shows that the SOB is lying yet again.

I want so badly to get in touch with the woman this man is going to marry, but, as my friends have pointed out.  It isn’t my place.  It isn’t as though my friend is or ever was seriously interested in getting together with this guy.  It just pisses me off that he is such an F*ing liar — and who knows how many more women this nut is doing this same thing to or with….

And trust me when I say this guy is nothing special.  Average in height, average in looks — and gainfully unemployed.  Oh wait, I forgot… On disability…  A real catch, isn’t he ladies?  Not to mention he is about as dependable as a used diaper.

I am soooo tempted to post his Facebook page, but,  I won’t… I might be blonde, but, I’m not a dumb one.  But, I will say if your name is Deb and you are engaged to a guy named Fred, and you live in NJ, I’d be asking a ton of questions if I were you and reading this blog…

It’s been a busy summer and fall looks just as busy

24 Sep

I know…

I’ve been a very bad girl and haven’t kept up with my blogging, but, I do have a pretty good excuse, I’ve been very busy!  Let’s see, where do I begin?

Fashion Week 2011

Fashion Week, I guess… If you’ve never been involved in Fashion Week there is no way to describe the absolute chaos that surrounds it — of course, I mean this in a positive way, but, nonetheless, it would make even the calmest person’s head spin!  You have fittings, more fittings, hair styling, and, lots of time waiting around waiting to walk down a runway for a total of roughly 40 seconds.  The upside to Fashion Week madness?  One of the designers (although I am not allowed to tell who — just someone from a major fashion house) allowed me to keep one of the garments that I wore on the runway!  And, I absolutely love this piece!  I know a lot of people assume that the models get to keep the clothing, but, in reality, it is rare, and, that is why this is such a big deal.  Especially since the retail price of this garment is in the $4500 range!

Then add in my regular modeling work, fortunately, it has been based in New York during fashion week, but, it means hours of clothes fittings, makeup, hair, and, lots of time in front of a camera getting that “perfect” shot.

The Plaza Hotel -- the location of our wedding reception

Now let’s add in my own wedding which has been tons of little headaches… One of my bridesmaid dresses was ordered in the wrong size, and, it had to be reordered.  We have a few out of town guests who would like “cheaper” accommodations, but, don’t want to stay outside of Manhattan!  Fortunately, I am working with a wonderful, extremely patient and professional travel agent who is helping me out, but, the guidelines set have made it more than challenging to find a hotel for these specific guests!  Now I know why my BFF in NYC, Elena, had such a small wedding in Australia!

Speaking of Elena, I’d like to give some shout outs…

Shout Outs

Congratulations to Elena and Paul who are now officially married in the eyes of the United States!

Congratulations to Jacqueline Collen Tarrolly on officially opening her new business (Toadstool Farm Vintage) – complete with ribbon cutting ceremony!  Very cool!

Congratulations to Tina for getting her copyright for her new book “Tharston Manor“.  I can’t wait to read it!

And, then getting back to my schedule and life… Well, then there is the matter of Gary, I make it a point to spend as much time with him as possible each day, and, we have “date” night at least once a week.

Matter of fact, we went to see “Moneyball” last night, and, I absolutely LOVED it.  I mean, I’m a baseball fan, but, I certainly don’t live for the sport, but, this is such a feel good movie, everyone — regardless if you like baseball or not — should go see it.

And, Gary’s Aunt and Uncle are coming in today for the week from California, and, we’re going to see “Anything Goes” tonight on Broadway.  I’m looking forward to it!

So that’s why I’ve been up to in a nutshell, and, that is why I’ve been such a bad girl about not blogging for so long.

Oh and one last thing — for future fashion designers….  Please be sure to follow my column on Examiner.com this coming week… I’ll be featuring a scholarship opportunity via Project Runway!

Ok… I think that’s really it this time, I promise I’ll try to blog a bit more regularly, but, if I don’t you can always catch up with me via my Fashion Column: http://www.examiner.com/fashion-in-new-york/rose-goodhall or on Facebook:  http://www.facebook.com/rosegoodhall

Thanks for reading!

Springing ahead

13 Mar

Ok, yes, my “blondness” was at its best this weekend, like many others out there I forgot to set my clock ahead last night, and, again this morning.  Personally, while I prefer the Spring and Summer months, I could do without this losing one hour of sleep.

It’s been a busy month, and, my schedule is getting even more jam packed between work, Elena’s wedding, and, of course my own.  That isn’t to say Gary and I still don’t make a true effort to have “date night” at least once per week.  For example, this weekend we went to The Monkey Bar (an NYC institution — you know — one of those places to see and be seen in…) and then we headed to Broadway to catch “How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” staring Daniel Radcliffe and John Larroquette.

Loved the show, and, thought the cast was great, but, I kept waiting for Daniel to morph into Harry Potter.  I guess it will be a while before most people take him for anything beyond Harry Potter, and, truthfully, after I let the whole Harry Potter and Hogwarts thing go… I was pleasantly surprised.  Radcliffe can REALLY act – so yes, I do highly recommend the show to just about anyone.

So that’s all I have to say at the moment, I’m off to chat with my bridesmaids about various wedding things.  And, of course, Elena and Paul’s wedding in Australia comes closer with every week, and, there is so much I need to do before gearing up for that trip.

Until next time, all the best to you and yours…

Me, Justin Timberlake and The Plaza Hotel

Well, I started out to write about our upcoming wedding  (which I will get to momentarily), but, when I signed on, I saw that I had an unusually large amount of hits today — so I checked my status and the sending link is: http://www.cinabeng.co.cc/justin-timberlake-car-accident-today

Ummm — what does our wedding or I (for that matter) have to do with Justin Timberlake?  After a quick search I didn’t see anything about him being in a car accident…  So, I don’t know who you are or how you got this blog address, I appreciate the hits, but, I’d prefer if I weren’t tied into this type of non-existent hype.  Thanks!

Now moving on the “real” news of the day…  I placed a poll on my Facebook pages, and, asked everyone (who is interested) to vote on where Gary and I should hold our wedding reception.  Hands down, The Plaza Hotel in NYC is pulling ahead fast.  True — so far only 53 people have voted, but, it was still an overwhelming landslide in favor of The Plaza.

And, the more I think about it, the more I’m getting into the idea.  So, I made arrangements for Gary and I to meet the wedding coordinator at The Plaza — along with our wedding planner, and, we’ll see if the date we want is open for next week.

There is just “something” – oh I don’t know – let’s call it nostalgic – about The Plaza Hotel, but, I find it rather romantic.  Perhaps because so many great movies where filmed there or just the history of the building, but, it does seem “right”.

I’ll keep you posted and hopefully have some photos to share with you all next week so you can see the rooms too 🙂   Have a great weekend everyone!

Australia here we come!

It wasn’t long after I moved to New York City to start my modeling career that I met my good friend Elena.  She has proven to be someone who shares a lot of the same ideas, thoughts, and, outlook on life that I do – and she’s just a sweetheart.  And, it was Elena that introduced me to Gary, so, you know this woman holds a very special place in my heart 🙂

In a few short weeks Gary, Elena, and, I will be packing up and heading down under – to Australia that is – Elena is getting married and her wonderful fiance, Paul, is from Sydney!  I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am, but also, how I’m also dreading that 22 hour flight…

We’ll be spending a total of two weeks in Australia, and, yes I promise lots of photos!  This time I might actually manage to get them up!  And, yes, I’m in the bridal party and yes Elena is in my bridal party – we’re THAT close.

So what’s on the agenda besides a beautiful wedding?  Gary and I are trying to figure out how to budget our time to get to see and do as many things as possible.  Here are some of the possibilities:

I’m sure this list is going to change and grow as we get closer to the departure date, and, if I’m this excited now, I can’t imagine how excited I’m going to be then.  Well, off I go, back to work time….

Yet another wedding update

24 Feb

We have decided on a NYC wedding

Well, after several conference calls with family and friends – worldwide…  We have finally decided on “where”, however, this needs to be clarified a bit…

Since we literally have people traveling to our wedding from all parts of the globe we have decided that New York City makes the most sense.  Not to mention the fact that many of my friends from Chicago have never been to NYC and they were pushing, begging, and, even in one case bribing (*grin*) to have the wedding in Manhattan.  So, that takes care of PART of the problem.

Manhattan it is!

Now we just have to select a date and location within Manhattan, and, this is no easy task.  However, this is a problem I’ll gladly take on.

More updates to come so stay tuned!

Wedding update

23 Feb

Yesterday I publicly announced that I’m getting married.  And, for those who have emailed or posted on Facebook with congratulations, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.  I promise you Gary is a wonderful guy who has a great job, and, he isn’t after money nor a show business career.  He’s simply “the one”.

I’ve noticed one thing in my life, weddings come in spurts…  The last time I experienced a wedding spurt was about 3 years ago when a friend from college was getting married, followed by two of my cousins all within 18 months of each other.

This time… it began with my best friend in NYC, Elena when she announced her engagement to a wonderful guy from Australia last year.  Then over Christmas one of my life long friends who happens to be gay announced his wedding/commitment ceremony, and, now here it is me making the “big” announcement.

As for “where” we are holding the wedding- well that’s still up in the air.  I’m from suburban Chicago, and, Gary is a native New Yorker.  We both have large families and much of both families are scattered throughout the Country or in my case the world since I have close relatives in England and Ireland.  So, this is rapidly becoming an International affair, but, that’s actually a good thing.

I’ve already been contacted by no less than 3 dozen wedding planners, and, I’m getting bombarded with all types of wedding venue ideas.  It’s actually fun looking at the different venues because each is so unique that it would give the wedding a completely different feel and theme.  So we’re discussing everything from how big of a wedding we want to the type of wedding we want.

In the meantime, I’m gearing up to head to both England and Australia.  England is for work and Australia for Elena’s wedding.  I can’t wait!!

Stay tuned for updates!

Updates – yes it’s been a while

22 Feb

Ok, yes, I am a terrible person.  Well, maybe not a terrible person, but, terrible at keeping this blog up to date because my life is so hectic!  There is so much to tell I’m not sure where to start.

The last time I made an entry, I was telling about my Christmas cruise.  Here it is nearing the end of February, and, so much has happened between then and now!

My engagement "rock"

I got engaged for my birthday/Valentine's Day!

I got engaged for my birthday/Valentine’s Day to the most wonderful guy in the world.  We’ve known each other less than a year, but, we clicked instantly in nearly every way.  I feel very lucky to have found him.  And, no, just in case you’re wondering he isn’t an actor or professional athlete.  He’s just a regular guy with a big smile and even bigger heart.  And, I know this is one of those “forever” relationships, not one that lasts as long as we don’t hit any rough patches.  Rough patches are part of life and we’re both are ready to accept the challenges of marriage and family.

I just completed my first Fashion Week in NYC and had an absolute blast.  It was a a complete blur of designers, makeup, hair, parties and meeting people but I loved every minute of it.

And, believe it or not, I was tapped (during Fashion Week) to be part of a television pilot.  I will be a main character and here’s a stretch – my character is a model who is from the Midwest who moves to NYC.  Does this sound like the perfect part for me or what?  Now, just so you know a pilot does not guarantee it will be picked up by a network.  The networks only take so many new shows each year, but, production is in motion, and, I’ll simply keep you up to date if we make it or not!

So, to answer all your inquiries, yes, I am fine – it’s just been an incredibly busy time for me.  Please stay tuned, and, I will try to do a much better job in keep you up to date with my life and what is happening.

Thanks for reading, and, I’ll be back soon!  Promise!

Two weeks until my Christmas cruise

3 Dec

This year has been a blur, but, a very good blur, and, as I get ready for a much needed and well deserved vacation with my family, I’m taking this time to reflect.  In 2010, I moved to NYC to begin my modeling career.  I made some new absolutely terrific friends who I know will be my friends for a lifetime.  I met and am dating a great guy.  Yep, 2010 has been a very good year!

To my special someone

And to everyone else thank  you for your readership, thank you for helping my modeling career take off, thank you for reading my Examiner.com column and thank you for your loyalty.

The new two weeks are going to be a bit crazy for me as I wrap up the year, but, I will try to post one or two more times before I leave on vacation.  If I am not able to post – I wish each of you reading this post a very happy and healthy holiday season and I wish the very best for each and everyone one of you in 2011.

Happy Holidays!

Back in NYC

28 Nov

Rockefeller Center

It’s amazing how fast a week can go!  I’m back in NYC after spending a wonderful week with my family and old friends.  Not that my new friends in NYC aren’t special, but, I get to see them pretty much when ever I wish.

Unfortunately, I was surrounded by people with colds all week, and, then on my flight home yesterday, I was stuck next to someone with a horrible cold.  I’m keeping my fingers crossed I don’t get sick because I REALLY want to go to the Rockefeller Center tree lighting on Tuesday!  And, of course, due to my luck – there is forecast for rain on Tuesday.   GGGRRRRR!!!

Anyhow, I have some announcements to make in the coming weeks – ranging from how I’ve connected to Bruce Springsteen (yes THAT Bruce Springsteen) to my trip to London in April to my upcoming holiday cruise with my family.  And, so my new found barely celebrity life is beginning to take off.

The funny thing is that my entire family and all my friends were so worried that I had changed during my several months of living in NYC.  I think they were all happy to see that I’m still the same silly goofball I’ve always been.

As for the romance department, I couldn’t be happier.  My boyfriend is the one nearly every girl dreams about having come into her life.  He’s kind, he is sincere, he is loyal, he is a romantic to the core, and, we share many of the same interests, ideas, backgrounds and hopes for the future.  We’re truly a good match for each other.

And, yes, sorry guys – we have begun to talk about getting married.  We both agree it’s way too soon to get serious about it, but, ultimately that is the goal for both of us.  However, a wedding will not be taking place until 2012 at the earliest!

I’m not sure if I mentioned this yet, so, if I am repeating myself, forgive me… I’m now writing a column for Examiner.com, I am the Manhattan Fashion Examiner, and, while the pay is terrible, I’m really enjoying writing and getting those skills back up to snuff.  I’d like to write my memoirs one day or maybe even get a writing job after I’m done with modeling, but, I digress – I’d appreciate followers so please feel free to subscribe to my column:  http://www.examiner.com/fashion-in-new-york/rose-goodhall

So that’s all from this end of the planet.  I hope your Thanksgiving was equally as nice or better than mine.  And, as always, I am thankful that you took a few moments of your time to read my blog.  I appreciate it – thank you!
